Five Tips to Upkeep Your New Car

Automobiles are no longer a luxury, but they have become a necessity. You shell out lots of money in buying cars to make your life comfortable especially when you feel your freedom is fettered by public transports. Since you have injected high investment in your car, you can’t be reckless with its maintenance. Here are the tips to upkeep your new car.

Check Engine Oil

Make a regular check of engine oil. You should change it every two to three months. If you drive on dusty and busy roads, you should change your oil more sporadically as it contaminates oil quickly. To keep your car in excellent condition, you should change oil, oil filter and air filter.

Brake System

You should always have your brakes examined by a professional mechanic. Brakes also give warning signs when they need attention such as red brake-warning light, squawk sound etc. If you feel these atypical signs, you should immediately park your car at a mechanic.

Wash Your Car

Washing your car is essential to remove dirt and debris that keeps mounting up over time if it is not washed. It leads to rust that gradually erodes it away. Wash your car daily from outside and inside. If you are not able to do it yourself, you can also hire professional services to have your car washed once in a week.

Battery

A car’s battery has energy that is required to start an engine, and it starts charging when you kick engine into motion. Battery maintenance includes checking battery water and keeping its connections cleaning and tight.

Check tyre pressure

Tyres should be in good condition especially when you are going on a long trip. Otherwise, you will end up with a tyre burst. You should check tyre pressure to economise fuel efficiency and reducing the chances of tyre damage.
