People talk about the good qualities only, but i would like to share some of the weakness and strong points both of Jaguar XE. Like the other XEs, the weak point in this car is the rear bench. The seat is comfortable, but legroom and headroom are at the front so you cannot stretch out your legs as you can in its other contending models. The best area of the car is behind the steering wheel. Jaguar XE is one of those cars where the trim level you choose shows how much you will like the cabin. There are different variants for this car so, you have the liberty to choose accordingly.

The engine is faster than its 9-second 0-100kph. However, its competitors are still quicker. The engine pushes up its power at 2000rpm, till 4000rpm. You can increase the speed and hold gear at the 4900rpm limiter in manual mode, but the eight-speed gearbox will let it do its thing correctly. In Dynamic drive mode, the gearbox gets the best out of the engine by selecting the ratio that keeps the speed at 2000rpm. The XE also has a relaxed driving style. The gearbox keeps engine speed and noise at low levels. It’s just that the engine isn’t as quiet as it ought to be. A grumble from the engine accompanies controlled inputs, and there’s a drone in the mid-range too. The steering is incredible, and there is a very natural balance in the chassis that makes the XE an excellent choice for the curvy roads. There is a good balance between body movement and ride-enhancing suppleness in the suspension setup.

If you are interested in an XE diesel, you have to extend your budget to get the best that is Jaguar XE which is at Rs 43.21 lakh (ex-showroom, India). You can even go for the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol-powered XE 25t Portfolio that costs about Rs 1 lakh less.
